devoured 62 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to win Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Chestnut won his eighth consecutive Mustard Belt and 16th overall by outeating second-place finisher Geoffrey Esper and the rest of the international field of 15 competitive eaters by double digits.

Miki Sudo, the incumbent women's champion, downed 3912 hot dogs and buns to win her sixth Mustard Belt.

However, the tournament was postponed for two hours by bad weather that moved across Coney Island in New York City before the men could compete.

After enduring the downpour and pondering whether the illustrious competition would take place at all, Chestnut exclaimed, "What a roller coaster, emotionally."

The Westfield, Indiana, native, 39, first challenged for the Nathan's championship in 2005 and hasn't dropped it since that year.
